Too Hot Blood

I can feel blood roaring in the back of my eyes.  A steady beat when I am quiet.  Always a
gentle tide.  In the early morning I can hear it urging me to action; warning that it won’t
always be there.  Then I become angry at the urgency.  Why does it always have to move and
be hot?  Sometimes I wish it were cool and slow like a winter river.  I don’t know how to talk
back to my blood in an effective manner.  I want to let each tiny cell know that I can’t stand
their pressure and I don’t have to. So, I have started tempting hypothermia.  I use the
external world to cool my blood.  Unfortunately this is very uncomfortable because the heart
of cold is hotter than hot.
