Nesting is my Nature

Yesterday I discovered that people terrify me.  I can’t walk alone because I might be stabbed.
So, yesterday, quietly and without panic I walked home and made a few giant eggs.  I painted
them blue with speckles, like a giant robin’s egg.  I invited my family over for dinner.  I made
spaghetti because it looks a bit like worms.  Considering the occasion it seemed appropriate.  I
put some medicine in the noodles to make everyone fall asleep for a while.  One by one I
placed them inside of the eggs with blankets and pillows.  I left them sitting in my house as I
snuck out of the city.  I went out to the country and found a big barn.  Upstairs in a quiet
corner I started to build a mud nest.  I lined the nest with soft green grasses.   When I finished
I took a nap.  I awoke well into the night.  I went back to retrieve the eggs one by one.  I put
them all into my nest.  When morning came there was a quiet stir as my family worked their
way out of the eggs.  Once they were all out they went to opposite corners of the barn and
made their own nest, like swallows.  They filled their nests with eggs too.  My husband stayed
with me in our nest. We had spaghetti for breakfast and nobody was fearful about being
stabbed.
