E.K. Wimmer is a multi-instrumentalist, artist, video director & writer.
Early Years
E.K. Wimmer began studying classical music at the age of 11 and continued into college as a percussionist
and composer. He began performing with a punk band at age 14 and was in and out of various punk,
hardcore, indie and surf bands over the next several years. He scored his first short film, A Tendentious
Man Descovers Theology, in 1999.
Veduta
Veduta was a solo electronic/goth project Wimmer created in 1999. Veduta was created with the intention
of exploring and combining experimental music with traditional soundtrack elements. Wimmer wrote,
recorded and performed all of the music. Veduta released two L.P.s (Audio Perception 2001, Do You
Remember (What I Forgot To Tell You) 2002), three E.P.s through Flexible Records (Sad Music For
Happy People 2005, The Elevator 2006, We Are One 2007) and was included on six compilations.
Two Year Touqe
E.K. Wimmer joined the Missoula based indie/twee band Two Year Touqe in 2002. Originally he played
bass, but he switched over to drums by 2004. Wimmer appears on 3 L.P.s (Greatest Hits? 2003, The Midi
West 2005, In the Elephant Garden 2007). Wimmer left the band in 2005.
Solo Work
In 2008 E.K. Wimmer ended Veduta and released the full length album What was once Veduta is now
found under his own name. What was once Veduta is now found is a selection of tracks recorded between
2002-2008. On Feb. 24th, 2009 Wimmer released the first single, Puppets & Ninjas, for his second solo
album The Invisible Audience, released Oct. 27th, 2009.
Maps & Mapping
In 2008 Wimmer co-created the post-punk/glam side project Maps & Mapping with his wife Maria Rose.
Maps & Mapping have released two singles (Time 2008, Radiation Love 2008) and are currently recording
their first full-length L.P.
Film Scores & Collaborations
E.K. Wimmer has began moving more into film scores in recent years and plans to begin composing feature
length films full-time. He has scored six short films with the most recent being Peel This Onion (2007).
He's also produced and performed on several albums by other artists and has recently begun collaborating
with Lindsey Mysse on a collection of songs, he provides vocals and live drums. Wimmer just finished
providing music and vocals for a project involving Fangoria Magazine.
